Consumer Advocacy Programs


During the pandemic, it has been a challenge for the Department of Trade Industry – Cavite (DTI-Cavite) to implement consumer advocacy projects due to existing restrictions that limit face to face intervention. However, this has been the turning point to the Department to finally transform the mortar and pestle strategies into something that will embrace the changes brought by the digital age, “digitalization”.

The DTI-Cavite’s Consumer Protection Division of DTI-Cavite capitalized on the use of multimedia/digital platforms to continuously raise the level of awareness of consumers with regards to their rights and responsibilities as well as digitally promoting the interest and general welfare of the consumers.

Since digitalization is here to stay with or without the pandemic, consumers have also adjusted/adapted to the “new normal” and they are now very comfortable transacting, browsing and learning via online platforms.

The CPD-Cavite started to use different digital platforms for information dissemination, create digital collaterals and introduce a project dubbed as “e-Caravan to Reach, Educate & Advocate to Enhance (e-C.R.E.A.t.E.) Consumer Awareness”.
